Statement from Minister Jenn Redmond on Women’s History Month

Today, Minister Jenn Redmond, Minister responsible for the status of women issued the following statement recognizing October as Women’s History Month:

“October is Women’s History Month in Canada, a time to reflect on the women and girls who have helped shape our communities, our province, and our country.

Every day, women make a difference. They lead businesses, care for families, strengthen workplaces, support their neighbours, and volunteer in their communities. Many of these contributions take place quietly, without recognition, but they matter deeply.

This month is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women from all walks of life. It is also a chance to encourage the next generation of women and girls to pursue their goals, share their talents, and follow their own path with confidence.

Across Prince Edward Island, we are fortunate to be surrounded by women who inspire us through their leadership, kindness, and commitment to making our communities better places to live.

During Women’s History Month, I encourage all Islanders to take a moment to recognize the women who have influenced their lives, whether they are family members, friends, colleagues, mentors, or community leaders.”
