Statement by Minister of Education and Early Years on last day of school

The Minister of Education and Early Years Robin Croucher issued the following statement to congratulate students and staff on completing another successful school year:

“As we wrap up another school year, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the students, educators, staff, families, and volunteers whose dedication and spirit make Island schools such vibrant places for learning, growth, and community.

Throughout the past year, I have had the privilege of spending time in every school across the province. What stood out to me most are the incredible people in our education system. Like any system, there are challenges. However, what I continue to see is a shared commitment to supporting students.

Every day, educators and school staff create opportunities for students to learn, grow, and discover their potential. To our school staff, thank you for the care and commitment you bring to your work.

To our students, thank you for your curiosity, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning. You should be proud of what you’ve accomplished this year.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on reaching this important milestone in your educational journey. Graduation is a significant achievement and a moment to celebrate all the hard work that brought you here.

As summer break begins, I hope everyone has the chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.”
