Seniors’ Secretariat Grants support projects for seniors

Community organizations across the province have received funding through the Seniors' Secretariat Grant program to deliver projects that support older adults.

The program is funded through the provincial government and provides grants to community-based organizations for projects that improve the lives of Island seniors. This year, over $140,000 was approved for 62 projects across the province.

Applications for the most recent round of funding opened in February and closed in March 2026. 

“Across PEI, organizations and communities play an essential role in helping older Islanders stay active, connected and engaged,” said chair of the PEI Seniors' Secretariat Peter Holman. “The PEI Seniors’ Secretariat is proud to support projects that promote healthy aging, strengthen social connection, and enhance the quality of life for older adults.” 

“At Parkview Senior Citizens Club of Summerside, we offer year-round programming for our more than 210 members,” said President of Parkview Seniors Citizens Club Jim Steele. “We appreciate funding from the Seniors Secretariat as it helps to offset a portion of the cost of our social events.”

The Seniors’ Secretariat provides policy and program advice to government and other organizations to improve the quality of life for seniors in Prince Edward Island. 

This grant program supports a key pillar of the Seniors Action Plan 2026-2031 by enhancing the well-being of older adults in PEI.
