Route 16 closure in East Point for culvert replacement

Motorists are advised that Route 16 in East Point will be closed to through traffic while a roadway culvert is replaced.

The closure will be in effect between Lighthouse Road and Elmira Road.

Dates: 

Work is now underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Traffic:

A local detour will be in place using the Elmira Road and Northside Road.

Safety: 

  • Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
  • Reduce speed in the area. 
  • Obey flaggers and signs.
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
