Roadside and ditch clearing underway across the Island into late fall

Each summer, the province clears grass, bushes, and tree branches along PEI roads and ditches in the roadside maintenance area.

This work helps keep people safe. It makes it easier to see road activity from driveways, intersections, and coming around corners. It also gives drivers, cyclists, and people walking more space. Clearing ditches also helps reduce the risk of flooding.

Large machines are used for this work. Drivers are urged to slow down when driving through work areas.

The project typically wraps up in late October.
