Paramedic Services Week was celebrated across Canada recently to recognize the important role of paramedics and the many professionals who deliver out-of-hospital care.
This year’s theme, Improving Outcomes, Together, emphasizes the collaboration of paramedics, emergency medical services, 9-1-1 communications staff, allied health partners, fire service, Medical First Responders, law enforcement, public health and other partners working in the best interests of patients.
“A career in paramedicine is built on service, sacrifice and a commitment to caring for others,” said Medavie Health Services director of operational performance Darcy Clinton. “The individuals recognized today have dedicated decades to supporting Islanders when they need it most. We are honoured to celebrate these milestones and thank them for the experience, leadership and compassion they have brought to the profession throughout their careers.”
The awards were presented by Lieutenant Governor Dr. Wassim Salamoun, Minister of Education and Early Years Robin Croucher, and Medavie Health Services director of operational performance Darcy Clinton.
