Nominations open for 2027 Heritage Awards

Island residents are invited to submit nominations for the 2027 Heritage Awards.

Each year, the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation presents Heritage Awards from a variety of categories to Island residents who work to protect, share, and promote our history. The awards recognize volunteers, community groups, and individuals who make an impact through meaningful activities, research, storytelling, and more.

" The stories, traditions, and historic places that define Prince Edward Island are preserved through the dedication of people in communities across the province. The Heritage Awards are an opportunity to recognize and celebrate those who help keep our Island's history alive and ensure it can be shared with future generations."

- Minister of Fisheries, Rural Development and Tourism Ernie Hudson

“The Island’s story is preserved and shared by so many incredible people who spend their time and energy keeping our history alive. The annual Heritage Awards are our chance to celebrate these amazing individuals and groups. If you know someone in your community who is making a difference, we’d love to see their name put forward.”

- PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation executive director Matthew McRae

Nominations are open until November 27, 2026.  Nominations can be submitted through the PEI Museum Heritage website or by calling 902-368-6600.
