Anti-Racism Microgrant funding available for community-led projects
Applications are open for the 2026-2027 round of the Anti-Racism Microgrant with a total of $100,000 in funding available.
The microgrant supports PEI’s anti-racism goals by funding small, community-based initiatives and enhancing larger projects that work to remove barriers affecting racialized and Indigenous peoples.
Lasting change takes time and happens in stages. These grants support early planning, start-up activities and important steps within larger efforts. The funding helps individuals, organizations and communities reduce racial barriers, build skills and resources and support lasting positive change across Prince Edward Island.
Eligible projects must align with one or more of the following goals:
- Making changes to policies, practices, and organizations to remove barriers and address systemic racism
- Strengthening the ability of organizations and public institutions to advance anti-racism efforts
- Empowering BIPOC communities by building partnerships, advocating for change and leading community-led research
- Advancing public awareness, community engagement and advocacy efforts that address racism
- Strengthening BIPOC community networks, leadership, and involvement in public life and decision-making
Projects must promote anti-racism education and awareness, community support, capacity-building and improve organizational governance.
Funding is available through three streams:
- Youth, aged 14 to 24, can apply for amounts ranging from $100 to $1,500
- Individuals, aged 25 and over, can apply for amounts ranging from $100 to $2,000
- Non-profit organizations and professional associations can apply for amounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on October 2, 2026.
