Highway reconstruction on Route 2 in Springfield

Highway reconstruction will take place on Route 2 in Springfield.

The reconstruction is due to the replacement of a buried pipe, which has reached the end of its service life.

Dates: 

Thursday, October 16, with work expected to last five weeks.

Traffic: 

Both lanes of traffic will be diverted around the work. 

Safety: 

  • Traffic should reduce speed and be prepared to stop.
  • Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
  • Reduce speed in the area.
  • Obey flaggers and signs.
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
