Asphalt resurfacing on Route 2 in Alma

Asphalt resurfacing will be taking place on Route 2 in Alma beginning approximately 230 metres west of Cheese Factory Road and proceeding west (towards Tignish) on Route 2 for approximately 2.2 km. This will improve the quality of the road surface and improve drainage.

Dates: Construction is expected to start tomorrow, Friday, October 16th and last one week.

Traffic: Two-way one-lane stop-and-go traffic will be in effect. Delays can be expected.

Safety: 

  • Traffic should reduce speed and be prepared to stop. 
  • Obey the flaggers and signs. 
  • Using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, and speeding are against the law.
