Government re-affirms commitment to new Georgetown elementary school

The replacement of Georgetown Elementary with a new school remains a priority for the provincial government, and planning work is underway.

“Our government has every intention of replacing Georgetown Elementary with a new school in the community, and it remains included in our 5-year capital plan.  We’ve begun work on identifying a location for the new school and reviewing various options for the building itself.”

- Minister of Education and Early Years Robin Croucher

The province announced a new school for Georgetown in the 2024 capital budget.

“Schools are community hubs and are vital to the long-term health and well-being of our rural communities and their citizens,” added Minister Croucher. “We look forward to working with the community on this important project.”
