Infrastructure work to impact Wood Islands Road traffic

Drivers can expect delays on Route 4 (Wood Islands Road) in Montague as crews carry out upgrades to the sanitary sewer and water systems.

The project includes installing new connections to the town’s infrastructure.

Work will take place on a section of Wood Islands Road between Chestnut Street and Hillcrest Avenue.

Dates: 

June 15-16

Traffic:

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with two-way, stop-and-go control in place. 

Traffic control personnel will be onsite to safely direct vehicles.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time. 

Please note that the schedule may change due to weather or other factors.

Safety: 

  • Reduce speed in the area. 
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
