Traffic lights reactivated in Hunter River
Motorists are advised that the traffic lights in Hunter River will be reactivated on Friday, May 15.
Crews will be working at the Route 2 and Route 13 intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to minimize impacts during peak travel times. Once activated, the traffic lights will remain on until October 15.
Motorists are asked to use caution, watch for crews on site, and be prepared for changing traffic conditions during the work period.
Message boards are already in place to notify drivers of the upcoming signal reactivation.
The traffic signals were installed in 2025 to help improve traffic flow and safety. They are turned off seasonally from October to May due to traction and stopping challenges for drivers travelling downhill on Route 2 during winter conditions.
