Summerside motorists: plan your route and leave early due to road construction starting week of November 10
Two road construction projects will be underway in Summerside next week. Please review the following details to help plan your trip and avoid delays in active construction zones.
Monday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 12
Route 2 – Sherbrooke and Traveller’s Rest
- Road reduced to one lane with stop-and-go traffic.
- If you’re not accessing local businesses or properties, please use alternate routes: Water Street, Route 1A (toward Borden), or Blue Shank Road.
Route 1A and Water Street (Read’s Corner)
- No changes to traffic flow.
- Drive with caution through the construction area.
Tuesday, November 11 – Remembrance Day
- No construction activity at both sites
Thursday, November 13 and onwards:
Route 2 – Sherbrooke and Traveller’s Rest
- One lane with stop-and-go traffic continues.
- Use Blue Shank Road as an alternate route unless accessing businesses or properties in the area.
Route 1A and Water Street (Read’s Corner)
- Work is expected to resume after Thursday.
- An update about construction here will be provided next week.
Construction at both locations is expected to continue through November, weather permitting. Updates to traffic plans will be shared as early and often as possible.
Please slow down and drive with caution around construction crews and traffic control personnel.
