Brae Harbour bridge replacement work resuming

Motorists are advised that construction activities for the Brae Harbour bridge replacement on Route 170 will be resuming. 

 

Work will include road construction, installation of new guardrails, and site clean‑up activities. 

 

Dates:

May 19, with work expected to be completed by June 5, 2026.

 

Traffic: 

All traffic will continue through the site during the construction.

 

Traffic will move in both directions using a single lane, with stop-and-go signals controlling when vehicles can take their turn.

 

Safety:

  • Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
  • Reduce speed in the area. 
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
