Public input wanted on beauty and personal care service regulations

The provincial government is inviting Island residents to share their feedback on the regulation of cosmetology practices in Prince Edward Island.

The Hairdressers Act currently regulates hairdressing services and has provided a foundation for the industry for many years. Other cosmetology services such as skincare, nail care, and makeup artistry are not currently covered under the legislation.

The province is reviewing the current legislation to determine whether updates or a new regulatory framework are needed to better reflect the full scope of cosmetology services offered in PEI today.
