Older adults recognized with Senior Islander of the Year Award
Nine Islanders were honoured today with the 2026 Senior Islander of the Year Award for their lasting impact on communities across Prince Edward Island.
The award promotes positive images of aging and celebrates the many contributions of PEI residents who are 65 years and older. This year’s and past recipients have been recognized for a variety of efforts, including community activities and engagement, volunteering, fundraising, education, research, fitness and recreation.

- Georgie Smith (Kinkora)
- Carol MacLean (Summerside)
- Doug Bryson (Union Corner)
- Claude Blaquière (Mont-Carmel)
- Beverley Ann Boulter (O’Leary)
“The older adults we are recognizing today have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their communities,” said chair of the PEI Seniors’ Secretariat Peter Holman. “Through their leadership, generosity, and dedication, they have created lasting positive change and strengthened the communities they serve. It is a privilege to celebrate and recognize their achievements, and to thank them for making our province a better place.”
