Funding for Community food support continues

The provincial government is continuing to support local organizations that help address food insecurity across Prince Edward Island.

The Community Food Fund provides grants ranging from $1000 to $10,000 to eligible community-based organizations to help stabilize the food supply for vulnerable PEI residents.

“Creating a stronger, healthier province starts with ensuring everyone has access to nutritious food. This fund supports the many dedicated community organizations leading this important work. We appreciate everything you do to help Islanders access the services they need to thrive and reach their full potential.”

The following are examples of services which are eligible for funding support:

• Food banks
• Community fridges
• Food cupboards
• Food pantries
• Food hampers

Applicants must submit a completed application form, which includes organizational details, service delivery information, and a proposed spending plan. Only one application per organization will be accepted.

The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026.
