Left-turn lanes being added in Tryon to improve safety
Road construction will take place on Route 1 in Tryon, from the Route 10 intersection east toward Crapaud for about 1.5 kilometres.
Dedicated left-turn lanes will be added at Callbeck Road and Old Town Road. Once construction is complete, new lane configurations will be in place. The project will improve safety for all road users.
Dates: Construction starts on Tuesday, July 14 and is expected to take one day to complete.
Traffic: Motorists should use caution and follow all traffic control signs and crews in the area.
Two-way, one-lane traffic will be in effect, with stop-and-go traffic expected.
Drivers should plan for delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes where possible.
Safety:
- Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
- Reduce speed in the area.
- Speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
