Province hosting municipal election information sessions
The provincial government is offering a series of voter and candidate awareness sessions for Islanders interested in participating in upcoming municipal elections.
The sessions will cover the roles and responsibilities of municipal officials, the nomination process, and what voters and candidates can expect during an election period. The Resort Municipality election will take place on August 10, 2026, and province-wide municipal elections will be held on November 2, 2026.
“These sessions are a great opportunity for Islanders to learn more about municipal government and how they can get involved and contribute to their communities. Whether you’re considering running for office or simply want to better understand the process, we encourage you to attend.”
