Bridge to be replaced in Upton

Traffic will be detoured in Upton while crews replace a bridge on Route 339 (Gay Road).

The existing structure has reached the end of its service life.

Dates:

June 22, with work expected to be completed by September, 2026.

Traffic: 

  • Route 339 will be closed to through traffic during construction.
  • Local traffic will only be permitted within the work zone.
  • A detour will be in place via Route 4, Clay Road, and Albion Road.
  • Motorists are asked to slow down, follow posted signs, and obey all traffic control measures.

Safety:

  • Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
