Statement by Minister Deagle on National Nursing Week
Minister of Health and Wellness Cory Deagle issued the following statement:
“During National Nursing Week, May 11 to 17, we recognize and celebrate the vital role nurses play in the health and wellbeing of Islanders.
Across Prince Edward Island, nurses provide skilled, patient-centred care in every part of the health system, from hospitals and long-term care homes to clinics and communities. Their work supports patients at every stage of life and is essential to strong, connected care.
This year’s theme, The Power of Nurses to Transform Health, reflects the leadership nurses show every day as they improve care and supports patients and families across the system in community.
Even as the health care environment continues to change and grow more complex, nurses meet these challenges with professionalism, teamwork, and a strong focus on patient care.
We will continue working alongside you to strengthen the workforce and support an environment where nurses can grow, contribute, and succeed.
We also look forward to the renewed Nursing Strategy for PEI, shaped by your voices, your experience, and your input.
To all nurses across Prince Edward Island, thank you for your service and for the important work you do each day to care for Islanders.”
