Statement by Premier Lantz on the National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace

Hon. Rob Lantz, Premier of Prince Edward Island, issued the following statement on the National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace:

“Today, we remember the workers in Prince Edward Island and across Canada who have been injured or lost their lives through a workplace tragedy.

We also think of the families, friends, and coworkers who live with that loss every day

Every Islander deserves to return home safely at the end of the day. We all have a role to play in making that happen. Employers, workers, and our health and safety partners each contribute to safer workplaces across our province.

Today is a time to reflect, to remember those we have lost, and to renew our commitment to preventing these tragedies in the future.”
