Western Hospital declares outbreak of gastro-intestinal illness

The inpatient unit at Western Hospital in Alberton has declared an outbreak of an unknown gastro-intestinal illness. 

During this time, patients on the inpatient unit are restricted to one visitor at a time. Visitor restrictions will remain in place until the outbreak is declared over. 

 All visitors and staff to the hospital are asked to follow the current infection control measures, including wearing a mask at all times. Visitors are reminded stay away if they are feeling unwell.
